Salome Awuor Omamo holds a postgraduate degree in Master of Studies in Non-governmental Organizations and Management, and is a consultant in research and sociology. She is currently a research associate with Own and Associates Centre for Research and Development and a Community Development Manager with Plumbers Without Frontiers both of which are NGOs based in Nairobi, Kenya. She works with gender analysis and mainstreaming, research and policy analysis in the social sector, conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, lobbying and advocacy, capacity building, water and sanitation, community mobilization, HIV/Aids, participatory rural appraisal (PRA), and organizing and facilitation of workshops/seminars. She has trained with and done work with several organizations including ILO-INDIA, World Vision India, USAID-APAC program India, and Ministry of education-UNICEF, Kenya.

The capacity building in GRACE research has been one of a kind. Not even the kind offered in some of the best Universities in the world, and this I say with a sincere heart. I did research in school but that was nothing compared to what I have gained in the GRACE journey. I just wish we met more frequently or longer for the same, but thanks to the coordinators for the books provided including the GRACE readers which have helped me continue with the process of learning. The internet communications has also facilitated this learning process.
