Elizabeth Mlambo

Researcher, Zimbabwe

Elizabeth Mlambo is the Sub-Librarian of the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Zimbabwe. The IDS’s mandate is to carry out academic and policy-oriented research that will contribute to development through empowerment of the majority of the working people in the rural and urban areas of Zimbabwe, who are currently marginalized in the development process. Prior to this she was assistant librarian, with the University of Zimbabwe in charge of the Faculty of Agriculture and Engineering. She was principal lecturer at Harare Polytechnic for five years where she taught Library and Information Science as well as Management. She has undertaken gender studies with the Institute and has done research on “The gender dimension of the use of ICTs in Universities.” She sits on the Women’s Action Group Board and has recently been appointed to be the Chairperson of The General Emmanuel Erskine Research and Documentation Centre Advisory Council (an affiliate of the Centre for Peace Initiatives in Africa).
